Date: Tuesday, February 20th
Time: 7:00pm
Location: UVU Business Resource Center

Speaker: Alpheus Madsen

In 1999, Bruce Schneier developed an encryption algorithm he called Solitaire, which uses a deck of cards to encrypt small messages. The system is intended for individuals who don't necessarily have access to computers, and who don't want to have incriminating tools on their persons -- after all, what's so sinister about having a deck of cards? -- but who can expect their enemies to have computer systems at hand to attempt to break encryption.

In this presentation, Alpheus will review the algorithm, and discuss why this algorithm isn't suitable for long messages.

Just go in the front doors, and follow the signs. We're usually in a conference in the back of the main floor.
